I invited Jesus to lead my life when I was a child. I loved that He loved me, but I struggled with believing he could accept me unconditionally. So, I spent many years trying to earn His favor by working to be the best person that I could be; but I messed up all the time and knew I could not be good enough to earn His favor. Slowly, my own ideas fell away and I came to understand His generous heart towards me. His forgiveness. His total acceptance. Over time I have learned to walk with God, in the kind of freedom and intimacy He offers without my own strings attached. (Teresa)
