As a child, I was afraid of spending an eternity without Jesus so I invited him into my life to relieve that fear. At twenty-six, I faced a life-threatening surgery which terrified me. It caused me to ask questions about my faith; I realized I didn't really know Jesus. I then made a commitment: should I survive the surgery, I would do everything I could to find out what a personal relationship with Jesus looked like. From that day on, I found Jesus to be the forgiver of my sins, my counselor, my friend, and someone I can talk to day or night who gives me a sense of peace in all circumstances. (Vi)
