CHILDREN AT SUNRIDGE
Children are our single most precious gift from God. At SunRidge we deeply treasure the opportunity to partner with parents and caregivers in the raising of their children. Our Children’s Ministry is called “SunLand” and is designed to give children an unhindered view of Jesus Christ through biblical stories and moral concepts and healthy relational interaction with their friends, all of this in a loving, caring, and fun environment.
SunLand is designed to provide parents with regular interaction, feedback opportunities and support. An essential belief in SunLand is that the parents are the primary spiritual influence in a child’s life and it is not our desire to assume that role, but to partner with parents in the development of their children.
If you are new to SunLand we would love to meet you and get to know you. When you register your child, we will get your contact info and get in contact with you to find out how we can get you and your child connected into SunLand.

Remember that there are to be NO PEANUT PRODUCTS anywhere around the church. No NUT products at all in the Sunland rooms.
WHY SUNLAND EXISTS
Our Mission: To partner with families, and walk with children as they grow up with God: loving, encouraging, teaching and guiding along the way! We are all in this together and we have a passionate commitment to giving kids an unhindered view of Jesus.
Our Vision: Each child has been made special by God and is loved more than you or I could ever understand. Here, in Sunland, we want kids to grow up knowing and feeling that. We also understand that the world is a rough place, so we want to provide another safe and loving space in a child’s life as they grow. We want to teach the values Jesus taught, and foster their friendship with their Maker and Saviour. One day, we want to see that child walk away a strong, self-confident teen who is secure in their friendship with Jesus!
SUNLAND AGE DIVISIONS
PARENT NURSERY
(Off our main hallway, see the sign over the door)
This is an unsupervised, quiet place for parents to sit with their littlest ones (about age 0 to crawlers). The stage can be seen through the windows in the nursery and there is a speaker so that parents can listen in.
PARENT ROOM

This is an unsupervised room for parents to come with their children approximately 0 to age 3ish. Children can play and parents can watch and listen to the service on a TV.
PRESCHOOLERS
(Go through the Parent Room to the Preschool Door)
This class is for kids ages 2–4 years old and begins after the music in “big church.” With all of our age groups, we want to have flexibility. So if you have a two-year-old who is ready to participate in a more structured environment and is able to be without you for an hour or so, they are welcome to join in. We ask that you come for the first class and see how they do in a group. Children in this age group must be signed in and signed out by a registered parent or caregiver.
GRADES K-3
(In the portable on our outside parking lot)
This class is for children in Kindergarten to Grade 3 and begins after the music in “big church.” Please ensure that you fill out a Guest registration form, or if you are planning to come regularly, a SunLand Registration Form. Children in this age group must be signed in and signed out by a registered parent or caregiver.
GRADES 4–6
(In the Gazebo at the front of the church – nearest Westlake Road)
Class-time for grades 4–6 will begin after the music in “big church.” Following this teaching time, the children will often rejoin the adult service if there is worship or communion served at the end of the service. Students will sign themselves in and out of class and will be free to find their parents following the class.
FRIENDS AND SIBLINGS?
If there are siblings or friends who will simply not be separated, use your discretion in allowing them to stay together. The general rule is that the older child must join the younger child’s class, not the other way around.
Generally we discourage mixing ages for children who regularly attend as it takes away from the age appropriate learning. If you have a question, please have the parent talk to a SunLand Leader.
