Easter Sunday

Not Undercover Anymore

April 21, 2019

Have you ever found yourself hesitate to make your opinions known to your friends? How about when it comes to what Jesus means to you? There are a couple of fellas that were quite hesitant to let their colleagues know what Jesus meant to them. They were undercover followers of Jesus. But as we will see they didn’t stay that way and our hope is that neither will we!

About The Artwork

The words are all spread out and clean as compared to the Good Friday artwork! Jesus’ death and resurrection cleared things up. His message was personalized for many different groups, Jews and gentiles, young and old which is signified by the different lettering styles. Its black and white, clearly visible, like we, as Jesus followers, are called to be.

Christian?

Series Description

"Christian" is a label that can be good, bad, attractive, or repelling. It's a bit loaded. But where did the word come from? And did it come with instructions?

About The Artwork

This series design incorporates a bunch of typefaces all trying to merge together to spell the word “CHRISTIAN?”. The typefaces are modern, traditional, bold, conservative, easy to read, and difficult to read. Our definition of Christianity is so often a messy combination of these approaches represented by the type.

What is a Disciple?

April 14, 2019

2 Timothy 2:2

Early followers of Jesus did not have a very easy time of it – persecution was very real for them, especially those in Rome. In spite of these bleak circumstances Jesus painted a beautifully compelling picture of what a life of a disciple was to be like. Today, be prepared to have something awakened in you!

Why Grace and Truth?

April 7, 2019

John 1:17

These 2 words describe the way that Jesus lived and loved. This presented a problem to the religious of the day because to live and love this way is messy. Disciples then and disciples now struggle with how this should happen in our lives. Today, we will look at how these 2 words made Jesus’ love revolutionary.

How am I to treat Outsiders?

March 31, 2019

1 Corinthians 5

Why do I continue to Sin?

March 17, 2019

What is our Sin Solution?

March 10, 2019

Many people would say that Christians have good standing with God because they live good lives, doing good things; bottom line obeying the commandments has taken care of the sin problem. But this is not true – so then what is true?

Why is Sin a Problem?

March 3, 2019

Romans 5

As we see in the term “Christian” there is varied reactions to it. So to with the term “Sin”. Jesus told his followers that he came to die – actually die for sin because it was that much of a problem. Today we want to look at why sin is such a problem.

What is a Christian?

February 24, 2019

John 13:35

"Christian" is a label that can be good, bad, attractive, or repelling. It's a bit loaded. But where did the word come from? And did it come with instructions? Today let’s look at where the word came from and clarify what Jesus asks of us.

COME ALIVE

Series Description

There is a big difference between knowing about someone and knowing someone personally. It is what makes a relationship COME ALIVE. The same holds true for God. There is a big difference between knowing about God and knowing God personally. This is what makes us COME ALIVE.

About The Artwork

Coming alive in Christ, it makes a spirit thirsty for the fullest life, life coloured by joy and pain, it is being enamoured with the mystery of God, it is believing in and praying for the most impossible things, it is being entirely weak in the entirely strong power of God. For this, a visual of explosive and charged colour was created; employing surreal pieces to signify how God’s pictures are so beyond what we can picture for ourselves.

Benefits of Hearing

February 10, 2019

You don't FIND God's will you RECOGNIZE it. God gives us His general and specific will. God's will is not BAD, is not FIXED, is not CONTRARY to His Word, is not HIDDEN and is not REVEALED to others first. God wants you to know what He wants you to BE. God wants you to know what He wants you to DO.

God Names

Series Description

What’s in a name? Names have a strong meaning that can often surprise us when we take the time to understand it’s meaning. The same is true for God. We want to look at just 4 of the many different names for God, and I believe it will surprise us and grow us to become more personal with God.

About The Artwork

In this image we have an old painting rendered in a new medium, pixelation. We have a modern typeface reading “God” and an old lettering style reading “Names”. When we think of God the Father and hear the names spoken in an old language, it’s easy to imagine God living in the past when. In reality, God is ever present, deeply engaged, and relevant a thousand years ago and relevant today. The contrast and combination of old and new is what is signified in this image.

Measure of my Days

Series Description

What if you were told you had 1 month left to live – 30 days? How would you use and make the most of those precious, remaining days? As you consider that, I want to ask you, “Is there something you should be doing differently now to make the most with your days”? Something to think about isn’t it?

About The Artwork

We went back and forth on so many names for this series, pouring over terms and one-liners that could sum up what we were trying to convey. After several rounds we read Psalm 39:4-5 again and were so struck by how beautifully and poetically it talked about mortality. The words of these verses just felt complete and so for this series artwork we’re just embracing the whole text! The series is called “Measure of My Days” but it is designed and shown in the context of the whole Psalm 39:4-5 passage in order to really say the words are the feature.

Life is Short

November 4, 2018

Psalms 39:4-5

If you were told that you had 1 month to live would you be doing the things that you are doing and what are the things that you are not doing now that you would start to do? Because life is short.

Series Description

We all have questions about God at some point in our lives. Whether we question our faith, God's goodness, or just His willingness to work miracles in our lives, we could all come up with our own question. For the next several weeks we want to invite you to take a seat and ‘Let’s Talk About It’!

About The Artwork

In this image we see a rather ordinary scene; someone crossing the street in ordinary clothes. No matter who you are or where your regular commute takes you, you face big questions. The image is covered with drawings and writing in a style you might find in a notebook or scribbled on the street even. This look has been used to show that these discussions we’re going to tackle, though they might seem intimidating, are approachable, not reserved for the academic, these are topics anyone can tackle. Why the multiple figure drawings? Well, when having to state our opinions on a difficult subject there is often an inner wrestle... logic says one thing, emotion says another... God’s black and white truth has answers to our questions we can have confidence rooting ourselves in.

Would a loving God really send people to Hell?

October 21, 2018

How can a good God allow so much suffering?

October 14, 2018

Injustice. Oppression. Natural Disasters. War. Famine. Disease. We don’t have to look far to know there is a lot of suffering in our world. Doesn’t God see it too? Or is He looking the other way? If He sees it, why doesn’t He do anything about it?

Why does God care about sexuality?

October 7, 2018

There are many views on sexuality and gender and it can be confusing. Many would say that they are troubled by the limitations found in the Bible. Is it outdated? Should we ignore those parts? Why would God care about that area of our lives?

*Please be aware there will be mature themes in this message which might not be appropriate for children.

Who says there is only one way to God?

September 30, 2018

There are those who say that since there are so many ways to find God, Christianity is only one among many valid ones. Then why are Christians so exclusive about their belief that one can only find God through being a Christian?

Isn’t the Bible a Myth?

September 23, 2018

DIVING IN

Kick-Off Sunday - DIVING IN

September 9, 2018

Ezekiel 47

Every great relationship starts at the beginning, and it then grows deeper from there, step by step. Same is true of our relationship with Jesus. We start at the beginning when we say YES for God’s forgiveness, and it then grows deeper from there, step by step. Today, we want to look at some of those steps – it’s time to get wet!

Series Description

When we stop and look at the world around us it is not hard to see that God’s ways and the ways of the culture are very different. So, as Christians, if making disciples is our mandate, why do we find this difficult to engage in? Could it be because some of us are afraid to? Maybe some of us are just apathetic; while others may lack confidence. My hope and my prayer is that we would push through these obstacles and become workers in the harvest. Join us for 10:02.

About The Artwork
The abstract looking graphic is meant to appear like a charged sky, jagged clouds all lit with a bright orange setting sun and heavy, rolling clouds carrying a storm. It is a great contrast of forces colliding immersing the “10:02” letters right into it. This fight is what we’re called to be right in the middle of, embracing the weather as we march out into the wind carrying the message of the Gospel.

10:02 Walk Humbly

September 2, 2018

We all want our lives to matter, to mean something. There is a significance we’re searching for. God tells us that an incredibly significant thing we can do is use our lives to point to Jesus. To do that may mean a shift in your life’s focus - from you to Him. How can a change like that happen?

10:02 Art of Neighbouring – Let's Do Coffee

August 26, 2018

Jesus has called us to engage the messiness of relationships. Real relationships are always messy, think about your family relationships. In order to take the Great Commandment seriously, we must love those who God has placed around us. It’s not always going to be pretty, but it is going to be significant.

10:02 Art of Neighbouring – What’s Your Hurry?

August 19, 2018

Martha is so busy that she misses out on what is most important. For those of us who struggle with busyness, our dilemma is bigger than a shortage of time...it’s a problem of priorities. We tend to let the urgent things crowd out the important things. Are we missing the main thing because we are busy with other good things?

10:02 Art of Neighbouring – What’s Their Name?

August 12, 2018

When we try to love everyone, we often end up loving no one. If we are not careful we can end up having metaphorical love for our metaphorical neighbours, and the end result is that we actually do nothing. Have we become inoculated to The Great Commandment?

10:02 Listening To God

July 8, 2018
