I (Hans) spoke to Conrad & Kelly today, and want to share the following answers to prayer:
Their house in Calgary sold the first weekend on the market.
They had an interview with a school, where their boys will be attending, and I understand their son got the last available spot in the Grade 7 class. The boys will be starting school on Sept 2.
Kelly is driving out with them this weekend, and will be arriving Sunday or Monday. She will be house hunting, and has several viewings already lined up.
A SunRidger has offered the AirBnB in her house for the month of September at no charge, so Kelly & the boys have accommodation for the month.
Kelly just got confirmation that she got her previous position back, and will be starting work at the beginning of October.
Conrad is excited and still on track for beginning on Oct 1, and speaking on Oct 5.
God is so good, and goes before us in ways we can’t always see. Praise him!!

God is on the move... and so are Conrad, Kelly and the boys...to come join us here at Sunridge as our New Lead Pastor!!! We were excited to hear the news from leadership on Sunday that they have accepted our invitation and are moving quickly to get the pieces in place to come join us. Have I mentioned that God is good? :)
Now the final pieces need to come together but here is what we know so far:
1. Prospective starting date for Conrad is Sunday Oct 5.
2. They are prepping their house for sale (listing this week)
3. Kelly & boys looking to come for Sept 1 to get them started in school
4. Conrad looking to wrap up and finish well at Mountain Springs
As we excitedly look forward, here's what we can do Sunridge:
1. Pray for temporary accommodations for Kelly and the boys
2. Pray for the quick sale of their house in Calgary
3. Pray for a good wrapup/transition for Conrad
4. Pray they find a forever home here in the Okanagan
5. Continue to pray for Sunridge to reach into our community Loving Jesus, Loving People and Living Mission!
It's been a bit if a journey so far, but the end is in sight! Or is it really just the beginning? :) See ya Sunday Sunridge! -
June 21 & 22 we invited a candidate and his family to spend Saturday and Sunday with us. It was a great time of getting to know them in a few different settings. On Saturday SRCC leaders met with the candidate and his wife over coffee and pastries to mingle and get to know them. Later in the afternoon we had an open-house where anyone from SunRidge could join to meet them. LT and their spouses joined the candidate couple for dinner, which was another great chance to get to know them. On Sunday he preached the message, answered our questions during a Q&A time, and finally, joined the youth group for lunch and more questions after! WOW! It was a full on weekend for everyone involved but it was a really great time!
LT and the search team are meeting tonight to discuss and pray through what a next step might be.
Please send your feedback on the candidate to the elders (Sara, Stephanie, Kyle, and Hans) and please continue to pray over this process!

Since our last communication, the Search Team has interviewed another candidate (2 total to date), and forwarded them to Lead Team & staff, who interviewed both candidates via Zoom on Thursday, May 29. Each will be evaluated further next week. We will be continuing to process with these 2, including reference checks. After further prayer and discernment we expect to bring one or both to Kelowna for a candidating weekend in the near future. Further details and weekend schedule is still to be determined. We have also received another couple of applications, and the Search Team may be interviewing one of them. Your continued prayers are coveted.

Members of Search Team have all agreed to carry on: they are Steve Corothers, Carla Preston, Scott Horovatin, Jo-Ann Kuchma, Norm McIntosh & Hans Neumann. We have met are discussing how to refine the process to better involve more key people and partners.
We have restarted the application process, with a new deadline of June 30, 2025
We have 2 resumes that have confirmed interest, and are waiting replies to an initial set of questions, which include: “Why are you considering leaving (or why did you leave) your current position? And why did you apply at Sunridge Community Church, what appealed to you?”
Team has tentatively set up meeting next week to discern, pray and review applicants for potential future interviews.

Pray with us at 10:02am
Please consider setting your alarm for 10:02am to pray that God would send us a Lead Pastor. Why 10:02am? It’s based on Luke 10:2, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
