Message Series

Series Description

Can you imagine sitting down with old saints in the Bible and hearing all of their stories! What do you think they would say, what was their greatest story, what can we learn from them?

About The Artwork

This is a modern looking stained glass graphic. We hear “saints” and often think of the old churches and statues of saints. This is a refreshed, more modern take on stained glass to represent how the series will be a fresh look at old stories.

Mike Klassen / October 13, 2019

No matter where you find yourself, God provides equal access to His grace. God does not show favor to the rich and not to the poor. We see this in the story of David. He was overlooked by some, but not by God. There is much that we can learn from David’s story.

Small Group Question

Mike Klassen / October 6, 2019

We all have that ‘thing’ that is a barrier to us. That ‘thing’ that you know that you should do – but you are scared and you can’t move. Joshua was scared too, but there were things he needed to do. What do you think he would say to you?

Mike Klassen / September 29, 2019

A great question to ask is – What did Jesus start, a mission or did Jesus start a church? Or put another way; does the church exist for mission or does mission exist for the church? The way that we answer this question says a lot about us – Here’s why!

Mike Klassen / September 15, 2019

Jesus was fully God and Jesus was fully human. It’s the fully human part that we too often miss. But when we really look at Jesus, we see a man just as human as us but very different from us – Here’s why!

A Summer of Psalms

Series Description

The Book of Psalms is one of the most unique books in the Bible. Why? Because it brings together ‘Logic’ and ‘Emotion’ like no other book in the Bible. These two need not be opposed to each other. So let’s enjoy the deep feelings that come to us with the deep truths the Psalmists bring to us!

About The Artwork

This series design features a wavy line pattern in the background. Many of the Psalms are very emotional writings which can be really joyful or really heavy all of a sudden. This emotional up and down is symbolized by the pattern.

The typefaces are modern, traditional, bold, conservative, easy to read, and difficult to read. Our definition of Christianity is so often a messy combination of these approaches represented by the type.

Not Undercover Anymore

April 21, 2019

Have you ever found yourself hesitate to make your opinions known to your friends? How about when it comes to what Jesus means to you? There are a couple of fellas that were quite hesitant to let their colleagues know what Jesus meant to them. They were undercover followers of Jesus. But as we will see they didn’t stay that way and our hope is that neither will we!

About The Artwork

The words are all spread out and clean as compared to the Good Friday artwork! Jesus’ death and resurrection cleared things up. His message was personalized for many different groups, Jews and gentiles, young and old which is signified by the different lettering styles. Its black and white, clearly visible, like we, as Jesus followers, are called to be.

What is a Disciple?

April 14, 2019

2 Timothy 2:2

Early followers of Jesus did not have a very easy time of it – persecution was very real for them, especially those in Rome. In spite of these bleak circumstances Jesus painted a beautifully compelling picture of what a life of a disciple was to be like. Today, be prepared to have something awakened in you!

Why Grace and Truth?

April 7, 2019

John 1:17

These 2 words describe the way that Jesus lived and loved. This presented a problem to the religious of the day because to live and love this way is messy. Disciples then and disciples now struggle with how this should happen in our lives. Today, we will look at how these 2 words made Jesus’ love revolutionary.

How am I to treat Outsiders?

March 31, 2019

1 Corinthians 5

The dream of Jesus was that His Kingdom of followers would spread and grow through the work of the church. The early church sure shows us this happening, but what about today? What has happened to the church’s influence for our time? Today is going to be an eye-opener!

March 24, 2019

Why do I continue to Sin?

March 17, 2019

Why do I end up not doing the things that I want to do? I thought the sin problem was solved. Today, we want to look at how we overcome this dilemma.

What is our Sin Solution?

Many people would say that Christians have good standing with God because they live good lives, doing good things; bottom line obeying the commandments has taken care of the sin problem. But this is not true – so then what is true?

Why is Sin a Problem?

March 3, 2019

As we see in the term “Christian” there is varied reactions to it. So to with the term “Sin”. Jesus told his followers that he came to die – actually die for sin because it was that much of a problem. Today we want to look at why sin is such a problem.

What is a Christian?

February 24, 2019

John 13:35

"Christian" is a label that can be good, bad, attractive, or repelling. It's a bit loaded. But where did the word come from? And did it come with instructions? Today let’s look at where the word came from and clarify what Jesus asks of us.

Series Description

There is a big difference between knowing about someone and knowing someone personally. It is what makes a relationship COME ALIVE. The same holds true for God. There is a big difference between knowing about God and knowing God personally. This is what makes us COME ALIVE.

About The Artwork

Coming alive in Christ, it makes a spirit thirsty for the fullest life, life coloured by joy and pain, it is being enamoured with the mystery of God, it is believing in and praying for the most impossible things, it is being entirely weak in the entirely strong power of God. For this, a visual of explosive and charged colour was created; employing surreal pieces to signify how God’s pictures are so beyond what we can picture for ourselves.

God’s Guardrails

Benefits of Hearing

February 10, 2019

You don't FIND God's will you RECOGNIZE it. God gives us His general and specific will. God's will is not BAD, is not FIXED, is not CONTRARY to His Word, is not HIDDEN and is not REVEALED to others first. God wants you to know what He wants you to BE. God wants you to know what He wants you to DO.

Value His Voice

February 3, 2019

What if I told you that God was over the top excited when the announcement was made that Jesus was going to be born: ...for to YOU has been born a Saviour... God was so excited because it means something important about LIFE as we know it is about to change. This is Christmas!

About The Artwork

God is here and it is great news! Big news! The artwork for this message is meant to look like news headlines; bold and super important. God is love and God loves you and thats a message for the young and old to celebrate!

God Names

Series Description

What’s in a name? Names have a strong meaning that can often surprise us when we take the time to understand it’s meaning. The same is true for God. We want to look at just 4 of the many different names for God, and I believe it will surprise us and grow us to become more personal with God.

About The Artwork

In this image we have an old painting rendered in a new medium, pixelation. We have a modern typeface reading “God” and an old lettering style reading “Names”. When we think of God the Father and hear the names spoken in an old language, it’s easy to imagine God living in the past when. In reality, God is ever present, deeply engaged, and relevant a thousand years ago and relevant today. The contrast and combination of old and new is what is signified in this image.

Measure of my Days

Series Description

What if you were told you had 1 month left to live – 30 days? How would you use and make the most of those precious, remaining days? As you consider that, I want to ask you, “Is there something you should be doing differently now to make the most with your days”? Something to think about isn’t it?

About The Artwork

We went back and forth on so many names for this series, pouring over terms and one-liners that could sum up what we were trying to convey. After several rounds we read Psalm 39:4-5 again and were so struck by how beautifully and poetically it talked about mortality. The words of these verses just felt complete and so for this series artwork we’re just embracing the whole text! The series is called “Measure of My Days” but it is designed and shown in the context of the whole Psalm 39:4-5 passage in order to really say the words are the feature.
