This past Sunday Wayne closed out our current series as well as his time as our transitional Pastor. It was a sad time but also one of excitement as we reflected back on how faithful God has been in this season (and will be in the ones to come!).

And of course... we had to eat, that's what we do. :) It was Sandwich Sunday and you didn't disappoint Sunridge. The food was plenty and delicious as usual as we gathered around tables, connecting together and wishing Wayne all the best as he continues his journey. Thank you Wayne for your servant heart and willingness to lead us through this transition period. God bless.

T-minus 27 days Sunridge until Conrad officially starts, but who's counting eh? :)

God is on the move... and so are Conrad, Kelly and the boys...to come join us here at Sunridge as our New Lead Pastor!!! We were excited to hear the news from leadership  on Sunday that they have accepted our invitation and are moving quickly to get the pieces in place to come join us. Have I mentioned that God is good? :)

Now the final pieces need to come together but here is what we know so far:

1. Prospective starting date for Conrad is Sunday Oct 5.
2. They are prepping their house for sale (listing this week)
3. Kelly & boys looking to come for Sept 1 to get them started in school
4. Conrad looking to wrap up and finish well at Mountain Springs

As we excitedly look forward, here's what we can do Sunridge:

1. Pray for temporary accommodations for Kelly and the boys
2. Pray for the quick sale of their house in Calgary
3. Pray for a good wrapup/transition for Conrad
4. Pray they find a forever home here in the Okanagan
5. Continue to pray for Sunridge to reach into our community Loving Jesus, Loving People and Living Mission!

It's been a bit if a journey so far, but the end is in sight! Or is it really just the beginning? :) See ya Sunday Sunridge!

Last Sunday LT announced Wayne will continue to serve as the Transition Pastor for SunRidge! Wayne's contract was set to expire at the end of August and he has graciously agreed to extend it a further six months. The news was announced and met with lots of applause and cheering. This has been a wild season for our church family and we're so grateful for how God has provided for us. Please, please continue to pray God would bring to us a permanent Lead Pastor who loves the Lord with all their heart and is passionate to love our city in a way that shows them Jesus!

Honouring the past and looking to the future...
Last Sunday we took some time as a church to honour Mike and Teresa for all the hard work and service they’ve done. 26+ years ago, God put it on their hearts to come do a work here in West Kelowna and as faithful servants they obeyed and Sunridge was born! Praise God for willing hearts and thank you Mike and Teresa for your faithfulness! The service was an awesome one where we took the time to celebrate God’s handiwork through them with prayer, worship, the giving of memorable gifts, sitting under Mike’s teaching one last time, and then a party afterwards. If you missed it, check it out on our YouTube channel. We also took the time to honour and celebrate the handing off of the “baton” to our new transitional pastor Wayne.
While it was a mix of sadness, laughing, wondering and joy all at the same time, we know that we follow a God who meets us in all those things and we look forward to where He leads us in the days/weeks/months/years to come! It’s fitting that as we start this next leg of the journey, Wayne will be pointing us to keep our “Eyes Fixed on Jesus” - New series starting Sunday.
