Transitional Lead Pastor

As of March 1st, 2024, Wayne joined our team at Sunridge as the Transitional Lead Pastor. In this role Wayne's primary responsibilities will be threefold: Teaching on the Weekends, Leading the Staff Team, and Partnering with the Lead Team to shepherd and guide the church through this new season of transition. Pursuing a healthy spirituality and growing an expectant readiness for 'God's Next' will be at the top of his radar.
Wayne's passion for following Jesus, love for the local church, desire to reach others with the Good News of the Gospel, plus more than 23 years of Pastoral leadership experience in Calgary, Chicago and Kelowna will serve him well in this role.
Wayne and Brenda, along with their two grown married children and two ruggedly handsome little grandsons all live in Kelowna. They love all things Okanagan!
Jon Ransom

Director of Family Ministries

Jon got his feet wet in Guangzhou China where he led a children’s ministry, started a family-focused house church and operated a kindergarten. At the end of 2020, he returned to his childhood home in West Kelowna with his loving wife, Mei Chen, and two children, Joseph and Olivia. Jon is passionate about partnering with parents to live out our calling to disciple our children daily. Jon likes to roast coffee and enjoys eating his wife’s amazing sourdough bread. When Mei isn’t baking, she is connecting with the women in her community for Christ. Joseph loves to play Frisbee, read and attend Ridge Youth. Olivia enjoys creating furniture for her hamster, reading and anything to do with art.

Brad and his lovely wife Tannis have been a part of the Sunridge community since 2018 with Brad coming on staff late in 2022. Whether it be through administration of behind the scenes details, marriage ministry or outreach in the local motorcycle scene, engaging people in practical ways with the Gospel is always on their heart.
Rob Brinson

Rob and his wife Kim moved to West Kelowna from Terrace in 2020. After 27 years in pastoral ministry Rob retired and upon moving to West Kelowna, went back to college to become a Community Support worker. He now works at a homeless shelter here on the west side. Rob has led worship and has coordinated worship teams for many years. He and Kim began attending SunRidge in 2021 and love the fellowship and meeting new people in the church. Rob enjoys playing and writing songs. He also likes jujubes and puts Frank’s hot sauce on his popcorn.
Kyle Dyck

Kyle Dyck started interning at Sunridge in 2010 with children's ministries. In 2011 he began interning for student ministries. Kyle then became the youth pastor in 2012. He continues to lead this ministry while also working as a full time finishing carpenter. He loves adventuring through life with his wife, Alecia, and their daughter Skye, and son Eben. Kyle loves to snowboard, loves to take a long time to say goodbye, loves the word awesome, loves Star Wars, and loves to use enormous numbers of exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mindy has been attending SunRidge since 2005 with her husband Magnus. Both of these two have been instrumental in making sure that all the details of running a Church are taken care of. Magnus and Mindy were married in 2001 and together have two amazing children. If you have any questions regarding anything to do with the Church financials, or Charitable Donation receipts – Mindy is the person to talk to. If you have any questions regarding Norway – Magnus is the person to talk to. Two more fun facts about Mindy: her favourite colour is Green, and she loves “Squeeky Cheese.”

Alecia has attended SunRidge since the beginning! Mike Klassen, the Lead Pastor is her Dad. Alecia has loved being involved at SunRidge in lots of different ways over the years and now works with SunRidge in the areas of design and communication. Alecia studied Fine Arts at UBCO, works in marketing now, and loves being able to be creative at church. She loves adventuring through life with her husband Kyle, their daughter Skye, and son Eben. Kyle and Alecia serve in Student Ministries together.

What We Believe

At SunRidge we treasure the individual journey that each person walks with Jesus. Out of our personal journeys will arise different truths about God, some being more important to one individual than another. We celebrate these differences and even find that when a person shares their journey with a friend some of the greatest ministry is accomplished.

Beliefs

We believe that God created all things and loves everyone with an unconditional love. God fashioned us to know Him, to love Him, and to live a purposeful life in relationship with Him.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son who died on the cross and rose again to purchase for us a place in heaven which He offers to us as a free gift, not because of our works, but because of His unlimited grace.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God who created within all people a desire to seek out a relationship with Him. As we allow Him to, the Holy Spirit fills and empowers us as Christians, giving us the ability to live a life of faith, integrity, and gifted ministry.
We believe the Bible is God’s Word to us, it is fully relevant for our lives today and gives us practical guidance for all aspects of daily living.

We believe Salvation is becoming part of God’s family by accepting God’s gift of forgiveness, and being made eternally right with Him through an ongoing relationship of faith in Christ Jesus.

We believe that Christian Living is discovering the peace and fulfillment Jesus Christ brings to us, as we yield our lives to His guidance and are empowered by His Holy Spirit.
